Ride into Book One – After the Burn – July 2026

The Reckon Broderick Western Series begins in 1869 with Craigston “Reckon” Broderick riding the frontier carrying the memory of a burned cabin and the family he lost in its flames. Once an educated Easterner, years on the western trail—and a winter spent among the Crow—have reshaped him into a quiet, deliberate man who answers only to his own code.
When Reckon passes through Denver, a violent encounter places him in the path of a ruthless criminal network spreading across the frontier. What begins as a single confrontation soon becomes a long pursuit stretching across the western territories.
The trail leads through mining camps, rail towns, and distant settlements where law travels slowly and power often hides behind money and influence. As Reckon follows the men responsible, he begins to see that the violence he has uncovered is not random, but part of something larger—an organized effort built on fear, silence, and distance.
From Colorado’s mining towns to the remote frontier of Southern Oregon, Reckon steadily closes the distance on the men who believed the West was wide enough to hide their crimes.
After the Burn is Book One of the Reckon Broderick Western Series, introducing a man who does not ride for law or reputation—but for justice.
